A future with no parks. A reality where parks are only available
in cities that have a history. Miami has a long history of destroying
any sign of history it once had. Currently we are experiencing
this with the development boom and one could only imaging
where it will end up in four-hundred years
The park was presented as an artifact of human
history. With text, a fictional history of the existence and uses of
parks was created. The viewer is now given the opportunity
to experience a park of the future, where history has been
blurred as to what exactly a park was used for.
The park was a 17ft square of sod, with a shrinking pathway
made of concrete, tinsel and 2 strobe lights. Visitors are allowed
to walk, play, rest, eat at this installation.
This park is also open to the public and everyone is encouraged
to write proposals in which to use the park whenever the space
holding it is open.
